So can we talk about this? Since I do not think this means Scott is becoming an Alpha (yet) there is only the other possibility that one of the Alpha pack is trying to get him under control? Remember how Scott’s eyes turned red when Peter forced him to shift in “Night School”?
So I feel confirmed in my feelings that they try to manipulate Scott and Derek in every way possible to turn them against each other.
Just like Deucalion said: “He’s looking for talents.” That doesn’t necessarily mean Derek…..

It makes me remember what Posey said about willpower.
What he’s doing here reminds of this part

like he was training himself to do it.. but in true tv show fashion couldnt until the dying moment etc.

That was exactly my thought.  I posted some meta about it how I think that this will be a decisive theme of the season. And nobody said explicitely they’d just come for Derek. I think we can all agree on the fact that Scott has a lot of Alpha potential. The Alpha pack very much focuses on Scott and his friends. Deucalion attacks his Mom and says he here for him…. So my theory is: They are here for Scott and Derek, they are pressuring them, testing their limits and turn them against each other to find out who has the bigger potential and then finally recruit the “last man standing” for their pack.
I remember that Jeff Davis is a huge fan of “the lost boys” and the whole point of this movie was to turn the protagonists dark side so they join their little vampire gang… I definitely see parallels.

THIS

On a side note: can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that every main villain - every.main.villian. - in all three seasons -all.three.seasons.- want to recruit Scott?

well, what can I say: He just has this effect on people….,.

I think this is an appropriate moment to put out this gif again….

Can I “recruit” Scott, too?

Everybody wants to ‘recruit’ Scott: the late night show.
